First Cream Tea - Americans in England trying Scones & Clotted Cream for the First Time
Soon after my best friend Tracy arrived in the UK for the first time, we took her and her husband Brett to a beautiful manor house hotel in the Cotswolds for their first real Cream Tea! Come along with us to explore Charingworth Manor and check out the scones, clotted cream, jam and herbal tea we enjoyed. The setting has all the things to love about this quintessentially British countryside location… rolling green hills, fluffy sheep, and lovely homes in honey-coloured Cotswold stone!

That was not a tennis racket, it is electrified and fries any insects that fly into the metals bars across the racket shape. I visited Highclere castle a couple years ago and had afternoon tea plus a tour of the castle and it was excellent, the Egyptian area in the cellars was quite a surprise. An enjoyable day out in my opinion. I get the impression from your narrative that you aren’t a fan 😂

Thanks for explaining the bug zapper! That is fascinating! You know, if I HAD to go again, I would definitely visit the Egyptian exhibit and do more research on Lord Carnafon on my own. I think that would have made the trip worthwhile. I guess I'm just jaded because I have been to so many manor houses that are much less crowded, less expensive, and full of truly astonishing beauty and interest. But my American visitors LOVED visiting Highclere, so I think it's personal preference ;-) Thanks for your comment. Cheers! Dara

When I filmed this vlog I was NOT expecting it to get so many views... therefore I was NOT expecting to get a severe scolding from countless people about: - Not drinking "real" tea - Jam first - Saying scone incorrectly Members of the Magenta Otter Tribe are used to the way I enjoy cream teas or afternoon teas with my own spin on it. I'm ready to move on to new material after getting lectured all week about these same 3 topics. Ha! Tomorrow's video will be a special one because my best friend Tracy shares her impressions of England... as we sit and talk in Hyde Park... right before she boards a plane back to Texas! To be honest you would be better off on a motorcycle on these roads. For a 125cc in the UK all that you require is a provisional license and a one day Compulsory Basic Training course to be on the road for 2 years on your own. To get your full license you would need to do your theory test and your MOD1 and MOD2 teats. Given you are spending a lot of time in the UK it might be an idea to do so even for the learning experience. It would also make for a fun video plus for an American audience its not something that has ever been done

Only thing is the only 125cc capable of off roading, touring and with luggage capacity is the Sinnis Terrain. Though I would suggest doing direct access and going for a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 for a first adventure bike

Oh dear. Please tell me he didn't put clotted cream in the tea. Nooooo! Plus, you don't like normal English tea???? For goodness sake, get used to it, and please stop drinking that pond water! Especially when you are pairing it with scones. I think it may possibly be treason in England not to have normal English tea with scones. Pond water is treasonous! Stop it. I soon got used to proper English tea at a very young age when my grandmother used to pour a little from her cup into her saucer and let me drink it from there. It was just a little sip, and also, it cooled down quicker in the shallow saucer. Either way, we learned to love tea, (the proper English way) and you can too ;) I liked the video btw, it made me chuckle.

I think you are misunderstanding the question "are you alright?" from a shop assistant. The question is not whether you are in good health, have a lovely family, or in a good relatiosnhip etc etc, the question is intended to check whether you are able to shop for the thing you appear to be looking for. So if you are looking content and involved, you won't be subjected to this phrase, but if you are looking quizzical, confused or lost, it is a perfectly reasonable question from the shop assistant who is asking if you would like some assistance in your shopping.

Very well done for excoriating the phrases "could care less" and "would of" both of which are capital offences in Britain, the latter is occasionally made by uneducated Brits, but once they are spotted the perpetrator is whisked away by the authorities to a detention centre awaiting the most extreme punishment.

Burgularise is not a word, hospitalise is a word. Coronated is not a word. Normalcy is not a word. "Bunch" is the most infuriatingly abused word by Americans.
